Eastern Cape

Addo Elephant National Park. Vegetation is predominantly spekboom Portulacaria afra. Which the elephants enjoy. Warthogs, such an unlikely looking animal! Feathered grey fur surrounds a black mask on an intelligent and lively vervet monkey's face. Hiking to cycads in the Zuurberg.

The road less travelled via Nieu Bethesda for the Owl House (not birds, sculpture!) by Helen Martins and Koos Malgas

Northern Cape

As we travelled to Kgalagadi we saw huge sociable weavers nests draped on the telephone poles. Into the Kgalagadi Transfrontier park to see the gemsbok for which the park was originally created. The legendary lions of the Kgalagadi.
